Teach me about Forza. I’m being given a new xb360. The last gaming machine I bought was a ps2. Can you play Forza or horizon without a xb live account? How is the local only gameplay?

The local only gameplay is awesome, you can still play with just two people and a couch. Id say the super in depth customization is probably the best part besides the actual racing, especially for an oppo.

Alright. If you want a more sim like racing game, grab Forza 4. I think they have an edition now that has all the DLC on disc. You do not need an xbox live gold account for either game. If you want a free roaming racing game, on public roads with a fun vibe, get horizon. I think Horizon 2 even came out for 360 as well. Both are amazing games and either one would do you well

Nah, you don’t need an account for either. It would let you play online, which is kind of nice, but I rarely do that myself. The local only gameplay for Fourza and Horizon is exceptional.

Xbox Live is required for online multiplayer.
Fourza has local 2 player split screen, neither Horizon has local multiplayer.

Just one point of caution for Forza four. Make sure the edition you buy has 2 discs. There is a 1 disk “essentials edition” with a lot less cars. The second disk will give access to many Jalop cars.

A word of warning. I bought horizon 2 for the 360 and honestly think that horizon one is a better game on the 360.
